John Jones
President / CEO

I was born in 1982 and raised in Sonoma County, graduating from El Molino High School in 2000. After graduating at age 17, I was offered a full time position at Wayne Maples Plumbing, which I accepted the position that came with a 4 year Apprenticeship Trade School. It was the best of both worlds, I was able to work full time in the field, while going through the Apprenticeship school at nights, fully funded by my employer. In 2003 and 2004 I was selected from Sonoma and Marin counties out of dozens of Apprentices, to compete in a Plumbing Apprenticeship Competition down in Pomona, CA. Both years I finished 2nd place out of 8 competitors from around the different regions of California. I graduated in the summer of 2004 with the desire to move to Redding to officially start my career. I landed in Redding, CA in January 2005, finding a journeyman plumbing position a week later and 4 months later I purchased my first home at age 22, which is one of the greatest moments in my life.

After 5 months living in my new home I met my beautiful wife, Michael Jones, which is also one of the greatest moments in my life. Shortly after, we started a family with our Dog - Roxy, Cat - Ginger and Fish - Jack. In July of 2006, we opened up a satellite shop in Redding, CA called Custom Plumbing, which is my Mom Cherri Pedrioli and her Husband, Duane Pedrioli’s plumbing company in Santa Rosa, CA. We have had a growing company in the North State ever since our inception, completing numerous commercial, high end residential, service and repair jobs. In October of 2013, Michael and I decided to buy out the Redding division and call it North State Custom Plumbing, Inc. We have a growing reputation that has a desirable work place, healthy environment, which allows us to consistently grow to be the best we can be, for our clients, their friends & family and all of us at The Custom Plumbing Family.

Besides being a Journeyman Plumber and Business Owner, I am also proud to be a Certified Plumbing Instructor at the Shasta Builders Exchange Trade School. With clear communication, strong leadership and a focus on team growth is why Custom Plumbing has been won “Best Plumber” by Best of the North State for the last 4 years in a row. On my free time I enjoy hunting, fishing, snowboarding and golfing!

I have done numerous things in life I started detailing cars when I was 12 to earn my own money for buying the school clothes I wanted. I was a nanny for 5 kids for 3 years. I then went to work at Keller Supply which at the time was a plumbing and heating supply house. I met my husband who was working for another plumbing company at the time. I talked with him and knew I wanted to be his girl. I grabbed his order immediately and started pulling it. After all was said and done I had loaded 200 feet of pipe on his truck and strapped it down for him. We have now been married for 13 years and together for 16. We have had a great adventure since then and still have a great time in our life.

I mostly work in the office, where you can find me talking with customers and making sure bills are paid and invoices are collected on. When I am not working I enjoy a good puzzle, shooting, hunting and having a good time with friends and family.

One of my keys to success, is being open to learning new things from everyone I work with and trying to be the best I can be. It is not always easy but I strive to do my best.

I have over 44 years plumbing experience, and am a 3rd Generation Plumber. I started plumbing with my father unofficially in 1974 then entered the plumbing workforce officially in 1977. I graduated PIPE Plumbing Apprentice School, a four year apprenticeship school in 1983. I obtained State of California C-36 plumbing contractor license 1985. Received State of California Vocational Education Teaching credential 2013 and was a past state of California credentialed plumbing instructor.

I specialize in many things, however troubleshooting very old building plumbing systems is my favorite. Day to day you can find me working on plumbing estimations, and plans for commercial, industrial, residential, healthcare plumbing and hydronic piping projects. My favorite part of the job is our family work environment, and being able to help our customers.

When I am not working, I enjoy fishing and cooking!

I am a 3rd Generation Journeyman Expert Plumber, with over 16 year experience. At the age of 22 I felt it important to not move forward with my life until I had served my country. I enlisted in the Marine Corps and completed a 5 year enlistment. I am well rounded in all aspects of plumbing. However, whole hose re-pipes have become one of my specialties. My favorite part of the job is working with mind, hands and the sense of accomplishment after a job well done. Most of my hobbies consist of having fun with family. My favorite part of the job is being able to help customers in their time of need and having a company that shows that they really appreciate their employees and customers. My keys to success are learning from your mistakes, prioritize your goals, and make a plan

When I am not working I love spending my time out doors or traveling. I especially enjoy taking my kayak out on the water or camping and exploring places I have never seen before.
